On the second day of the Pool A matches and the third day of the Championship Argentina continued to impress, as they won their second match in Group A against Spain, defeating them on the Supremo field.
While the match started with both teams bringing their ace game as the first chukka ended with a score of 2-2, it didn't take for the Argentine team to turn the tide on their opponents as they went on to score a whopping ten goals in the final four chukkas. After an imposing game by Argentina, the final score came up to be 12-3.5.
In the second game of the day, USA defeated the host team Australia 7-5 at Sydney Polo Club, however, all is not lost for Australia as they can still qualify for the final if they succeed at defeating Argentina in the next match.
Early on in the game, USA had gained a 3-1 lead but Australia recovered soon after to tie the game at 3-3 after three chukkas and to 4-4 after the fourth.
However, by the final chukka A Felipe Viana's penalty gave USA the lead at 6-5. With no more than a minute remaining, Jimmy Right scored the final goal for USA finishing the game with a final score of 7-5.
