The second day of IPG Col Girdhari Singh Memorial Cup 2019 got along with four matches fixed for the day.



Match 1: Jindal Panther vs 61 Cavalry

The first match of the day had Jindal Panther and 61 Cavalry against each other. The match opened up with Phil Seller taking grip of the ball under his control. This marked the first goal of the ball. This was followed by a 30 yard penalty in favor of Jindal Panther where Phil Seller struck the ball to grab the second goal of the match. With only 9 seconds left on the clock, Jindal Panther once again got into action with Akshai Malik on strike.

The second chukker once again began in favor of Jindal Panther with Akshai Malik on strike. This marked the fourth goal for Jindal Panther. The scoreboard finally opened for 61 Cavalry when Col Ravi Rathore grabbed the first goal for the team with a 60 yard penalty shot. This was followed by Phil Seller taking a 40 yard penalty.

The third chukker of the match opened up 61 Cavalry on a 40 yard penalty shot that marked the second goal for the team. Following this was Simran Shergill on strike where Jindal Panther had a chance to change a 60 yard penalty shot into the sixth goal for his team which he did. This was followed by Maj Aman Singh grabbing the third goal for his team. At this, the chukker stopped for a chukker break with Jindal Panther at 6 goals against 3 of 61 Cavalry. The last goal of the chukker was bracketed in by Col Ravi Rathore, which marked the 4th goal for the team.

The fourth chukker of the match opened up with Simran Singh Shergill grabbing the seventh goal for his team. This was once again followed by Simran Shergill taking a 60 yard penalty in favor of the team which marked the eighth goal. With this, the team had Phil Seller in action who took the ball and grabbed the ninth goal for his team.

The second match of the day had team Ascension and Col Girdhari Singh ASC go against each other. The match started off with Samir Suhag grabbing the first goal in the form of spot hit. This was once again followed as another goal for the team was grabbed by Samir Suhag in form of spot hit. This marked two goals for team Col Girdhari Singh ASC. Moving ahead was team Ascension who with Siddhant Sharma on strike grabbed the first goal in the form of 40 yard penalty. This was once again repeated with Siddhant Sharma on the strike at 30 yard penalty. With the, both the teams stood with an equivalent score.

Getting into the second chukker, Sep Ravinder Mang, a young budding player grabbed the third goal for his team in a solo run. Galloping ahead, Abhimanyu Pathak bracketed the equalizer for his team. But soon, this was followed by Samir Suhag grabbing the fourth goal for the team.

The third chukker had a live horse race in front of the audience and with Abhimanyu Pathak and Siddhant Sharma taking the ball for their next goal, Naveen Singh crossed them with a back hander but the umpire called off for a foul with which team. Ascension had a spot hit in their favor that was taken by Siddhant Sharma. After this the score board stood at 4 goals each. Following this was Abhimanyu Pathak who grabbed the fifth goal. As if almost complementing the move, it was Siddhant Sharma, the Dude Man as they call him, who grabbed the sixth goal.

The fourth chukker began from where the third ended. Following the 30 yard penalty where the third chukker wrapped, the fourth opened with Col Girdhari Singh ASC team on strike with Naveen Singh. In the attempt he grabbed the fifth goal for the team. This was once again followed by a penalty shot in favor of Col Girdhari Singh ASC team that was taken by Naveen Singh and with this, the team had an equivalent score. The tie breaker came in way when, Naveen Singh look a 60 yard penalty shot.Following this was Naveen Singh who took yet another 30 yard penalty in favor of his team. As if complementing his move, Samir Suhag took a solo run to grab the ninth goal for his team.

The third match had advantage given to Navy team with 1.5 goals. Although the day had major rainfall, but the match continued in for the first chukker with Rajnigandha Achievers in full swing. With Sawai Padmanabh Singh in action for the first three goals, the fourth was preceded by Daniel Otamendi.


Soon after this the match was called off.

Getting back to the resumed play, the teams got into action on 29th November 2019 at the AEC Ground, New Delhi.
The match began with the second chukker where Daniel Otamendi grabbed the only goal of the chukker.

The third chukker chukker in action once again had Daniel Otamendi on strike where he grabbed two back to back goals for his team. Team Navy could still not bring any action to their scoreboard.

The last chukker of the match had Sawai Padmanabh Singh in action which marked the eighth goal of the ground. This was followed by Col Tarun Sirohi grabbing the first goal for their team. Following the pattern, it was Cdr Akhil Sirohi who took a 60 yard penalty in favor of his team.

The day 2 of IPG Col Girdhari Singh Memorial Cup witnessed severe rainfall and thus the last two matches of the day had to be cancelled. Moulding the fixtures had the fourth match of Day 2 scheduled on the next day, 28th November 2019 marking the third day of IPG Col Girdhari Singh Memorial Cup. The match opened at Jindal Polo Ground, Noida.
