FIP European Polo Championship At Villa A Sesta
The 12. FIP European Polo Championship 2018 kicked-off in the magnificent setting of the Villa a Sesta Polo Club. The most vibrant polo event of the year is being played in the heart of Chianti Classico in Tuscany. The polo event will also feature the second edition of the women’s European Championship. The event which kicked off on September 20 will be played till Sunday, September 30th. For the first time two different tournaments will be played under the single banner of the FIP European Polo Championships – Quantocoin Cup. The women’s championship made its debut last year in Chantilly. Italian team became the first team to have a Roll of Honour in its name last year after winning the Women’s Championship in its debut year. The event is jointly organised by the International Polo Federation (FIP), the Italian Equestrian Sports Federation (FISE) and the Villa a Sesta Polo Club (VAS). This year’s event is also breaking the record for participation with 14 teams (10 in the European championship + 4 in the women’s championship) participating in the event proving that interest in polo is increasing and developing also on the Old Continent.
