The first match of the cup, Garcha Group-Aravali Polo vs Sona Polo, kicked off at 1:30 pm at the Jaipur Polo Ground.




Match 2: Jindal Panther vs Sahara Warriors

The second match of the day, Jindal Panther vs Sahara Warriors, kicked off at 3:30 pm with Martin Pascual and Manolo Llorente as the umpires.

The second match, Jindal Panther vs Sahara Warriors, kickstarted with Matthew Perry running with the ball from the centre and scoring a goal in the first 15 seconds of the match. Sahara Warriors, playing in white, were dominant over the team in blue, Jindal Panther, as they were awarded a 60’ penalty soon after their first goal. Dhruvpal Godara converted the 60 yarder to a goal and the scoreboard read 2-0 with Sahara Warriors in the lead. Matthew Perry, chasing with the wind, scored a goal to extend Sahara Warriors’ lead. Shamsheer Ali’s goal from Simran Singh Shergill's lofted ball marked the first goal for Jindal Panther team. The first chukker winded up at:

Matthew Perry made a brilliant run which was obstructed and Sahara Warriors were awarded a 60’ penalty which was converted into a goal by Dhruvpal Godara. Simran Singh Shergill made a great run towards the goal but was unable to convert it into a goal. Matthew Perry scored two back to back goals and extended Sahara Warriors’ lead. Sahara Warriors was comfortably leading after the second chukker as the scoreboard read:

The third chukker witnessed an intense game as both the teams locked horns to score a goal. The chukker witnessed a great game of defence from Sahara Warriors’ side. Not allowing Jindal Panther to score a goal, Sahara Warriors added one more goal to their tally as Dhruvpal Godara’s goal marked the seventh goal for Sahara Warriors. Jindal Panther scored a goal in the dying minutes of the chukker. The score after the third chukker was:

The fourth chukker opened with a goal from Matthew Perry. Helping his team extend the lead, Matthew Perry was present everywhere in the field. From scoring goals to defending them, Matthew Perry was the keyman of Sahara Warriors’ team. Simran Singh Shergill scored a goal for Jindal Panther to bring them back in the game. Sahara Warriors’ tight defence didn't allow Jindal Panther to score any more goals and the chukker winded up at:

Starting off the fifth chukker from the centre, Sahara Warriors made a brilliant effort for a goal which was stopped midway by Tom Brodie. Scoring from a distance shot, Shamsheer Ali's goal marked the 4th goal for Jindal Panther. Tom Brodie scored a goal in the final minutes from the penalty to wind up the chukker at:

Jindal Panther were getting back in the game but the last chukker of match saw Matthew Perry scoring a goal to extend Sahara Warriors’ lead. The score was 9-5 when Dhruvpal Godara converted a 30’ penalty to a goal. The game winded up with Tom Brodie scoring from the penalty spot. The score after the last chukker was:

The first match of the cup saw Garcha Group-Aravali Polo, playing in white, going head to head against Sona Polo, who were ready in black. The match kicked off as the umpires, Martin Pascual and Lt Col Vishal Chauhan, blew the whistle for the match to start. With both the teams trying hard to score, the match didn't see a goal in the first half of the chukker. Opening the scoring for Garcha Group - Aravali Polo from the 40’ penalty, Manolo Llorente hit the ball powerfully in the goal. The chukker was in its finishing minutes when Padmanabh Singh blocked Manolo Llorente to help Abhimanyu Pathak score but the goal couldn't be scored as Manolo Llorente defended the ball from entering the goal. The first chukker saw the game end with Garcha Group- Aravali Polo awarded a 60’ penalty. The score after the first chukker was:

The second chukker kicked off with a goal from Manolo Llorente from the 60’ penalty. Garcha Group - Aravali Polo were leading by 2 goals to nil after Manolo's goal. Kicking off the game from the centre, Col Ravi Rathore scored a brilliant goal from the angle to mark the third goal for Garcha Group - Aravali Polo. Sona Polo, coming back in the game, witnessed a goal from Abhimanyu Pathak, which he scored from the 30’ spot. The score was 3-1 when Padmanabh Singh tapped the ball from Abhimanyu Pathak to mark the second goal for Sona Polo. Sona Polo equalised the game with Abhimanyu Pathak scoring another one. The chukker winded up with Garcha Group - Aravali Polo scoring a goal to end the chukker at :

Kicking off the third chukker in style, Sona Polo opened the chukker with a goal to equalise the score. The game witnessed a neck and neck game as Garcha Group-Aravali Polo score one to get back in the lead. Manolo Llorente, missing a 60’ penalty, ran from the right to score but missed as Sona Polo were awarded a 30’ penalty which was converted to a goal by Abhimanyu Pathak to end the chukker at:

Manolo Llorente, starting the game from the centre, follows his line and passes a fabulous through ball to Angad Kalaan which is interrupted by Basheer Ali. Basheer Ali, taking a foul from angle hits the ball hard towards the goal from an approximate distance of 90 yards, scored a goal to bring Sona Polo in the lead. After scoring the goal, Basheer scored one for the opponent team too as the scoreboard read 6-6. Abhimanyu Pathak and Sawai Padmanabh Singh ran from the right towards the goal but a great save from Angad Kalaan disallowed them to score. Col Ravi Rathore took a brilliant foul to provide a great lofted ball for Satinder Garcha in front of an empty goal but goal was disallowed due to obstruction of line of goal. The game continued and Garcha Group - Aravali Polo were awarded a 40’ which was hit by Manolo Llorente. Abhimanyu Pathak, stopping the ball just in front of the goal maintained the scoreboard at 6-6. Basheer Ali, starting the game from the goal, hit a powerful through ball for Sawai Padmanabh Singh. The chukker winded up with Sawai Padmanabh Singh just missing the goal as the ball hit the poles and the score remained:

The fifth chukker kicks off with a tap-in from Satinder Garcha. Angad Kalaan's shot which was tapped in by Satinder Garcha marked the 7th goal for Garcha Group - Aravali Polo. Angad Kalaan, snatching the ball from Abhimanyu, ran towards the goal to extend Garcha Group-Aravali Polo team's lead. The score was 8-6 with Garcha Group-Aravali Polo in the lead. Basheer Ali hit a powerful ball towards the goal which was converted into a goal by Abhimanyu Pathak. Manolo Llorente ran hard towards the goal and scored a goal to end the chukker at:

Sona Polo : 7

 

 

The last chukker of the match opened with a 40’ hit from Abhimanyu Pathak stripped by Col Ravi Rathore. The game resumed with Garcha Group-Aravali Polo marching towards the goal which was stopped midway by Sona Polo's defence. No more goals were scored in the chukker and Garcha Group-Aravali Polo displaying a great game of defence winded up the match at:
