Sahara Warriors conquers Jodhpur Central Academy to conquer the Finals of the Polofactory Maharaja of Jodhpur Golden Jubilee Cup, Jodhpur Blues and Pink Beret clashed in a neck to neck encounter of the Ladies Polo Cup as the match remained at scores leveled!

The last leg of the 20 th Jodhpur Polo Season, 2019 had an all exciting Gala Day for the Polo enthusiasts in and around Jodhpur as the Grand Finale of the Polofactory Maharaja of Jodhpur Golden Jubilee Cup (10 Goals) and Jodhpur International Ladies Polo Cup Exhibition match were set to be battled of. The first match of the day was played between Jodhpur Central Academy and Sahara Warriors. The players were introduced as Jodhpur Central Academy in black was ready to take on Sahara Warriors in white. Mr. Nicholas Scortichini and Mr. Gerardo Mazzini were the umpires and Mr. Emilio Urrea Kirby was the referee for the match. Mr. Ankur Mishra and Th. Sidharth Singh Rohet were the commentators for the day. The dearly loved Raj Bhanwar Sa of Jodhpur threw in the ball to commence the Finals match.

The match started with a +0.5 goal lead for Jodhpur Central Academy. The first chukker began with a spirited clash between both the teams. Daniel Otamendi scored the opening goal of the match as H.H. Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur added a striking goal for the Warriors. Dhruvpal Godara, the man in form scored the first one for Jodhpur Central Academy with the first chukker scores standing at:

Second chukker had both the teams clashing head on for the title in an all heated up action and tussles! Daniel Otamendi converted two 30 yard penalties with direct strokes into the goal post as Syed Basheer Ali defended a goal and then ran away with the ball to strike a hitting goal for the Warriors. Jodhpur Central Academy was no less on the up front as Dhruvpal Godara took the ball all by himself to score his trademark aggressive goal. The young and the restless R.K. Janmejai Singh, marching on with a good season experience, showed his momentum and striked a magnificent goal after tackling the ball from his seniors in the opposition. Angad Kalaan showed his class to close the gap on the scoreboard by adding a running goal with a beautiful stroke for their team winding the second chukker scores at:

It was hard to predict the Finals fate as the encounter accelerated the heat of the battle in the third chukker. Syed Basheer Ali showed his experience and added two goals to the lead for their team as Dhruvpal Godara and R.K. Janmejai Singh scored one goal each for Jodhpur team with the scores at the end of third chukker standing at:

In the fourth and final chukker Warriors performed on the upfront to take the control of the war. Daniel Otamendi became the fabulous finisher of the game adding two goals for his team to set up the victory as the team defended like a wall with no goals being scored from Jodhpur Central Academy. Giving their all, both teams had an enthralling match as Sahara Warriors surmounted Jodhpur Central Academy by an overall score of 9 goals to 6.5 to claim the Finals Trophy. JODHPUR BLUES AND PINK BERET MATCH DRAWN AND TROPHY SHARED IN THE JODHPUR INTERNATIONAL LADIES POLO CUP EXHIBITION MATCH

 

 

The second match of the day, the much awaited Jodhpur International Ladies Polo Cup Exhibition Match was battled of between the Jodhpur Blues playing in bright blue and Pink Beret playing in vibrant pink. Mr. Nicholas Scortichini and Mr. Emilio Urrea Kirby were the umpires for the match and Mr. Angad Kalaan was the referee. For the Pink Beret, it was the Arjuna Awardee Samir Suhag playing alongside his daughter Sanya Suhag.

The second chukker had the action gripping up swiftly in favor of Pink Beret. Ms. Clara Casino showcased a dexterous performance by scoring two striking goals for equalizing the scores for Pink Beret. Delfino Balsano scored her second for the team to take the lead for Jodhpur Blues as the scorecard stood at:

Clara Casino put on a show of her skills and power by scoring a hat-trick for Pink Beret in the third chukker and coming on the lead on the scoreboard as no goal was scored for Jodhpur Blues winding the third chukker scores at:

Jodhpur Blues was in no intention of giving up and displayed an all round performance on defending and attempting in the fourth and final chukker. Delfino Balsano striked final two goals of the match to equalize the scores to end up the match at scores leveled at five-all as no goal was scored for Jodhpur Blues and the Winners trophy was shared by both the teams for displaying an all competitive and tough battle. H.H. Maharaja Gaj Singhji of Jodhpur graced the Felicitations and awarded appreciation prizes to the Press for covering the Jodhpur Polo Season with great enthusiasm and the Organizers and management team for their dedication and well organization of the event that turned out to be a great success. Following this, the Winner’s trophy and prizes were awarded to the winning and runner up teams Sahara Warriors and Jodhpur Central Academy respectively of the Polofactory Maharaja of Jodhpur Golden Jubilee Cup and to the joint Winners Jodhpur Blues and Pink Beret of the Jodhpur International Ladies Polo Cup.
