The Singapore Polo Open 2017 has commenced for the year with a great vigor for the year. The 6-day event which began on the 11th of July will end on the 16thof July (2017) with the finale. The royal sport which reflects an elite nature is growing increasingly popular in Southeast Asia and the contribution of the Singapore Polo Club inaugurated in 1886 has been tremendous.
The tournament with Team Tata Communications as the title sponsor and the Prudential Singapore as the sponsors of the national team in the South-east Asian Games battled in the Singapore Polo Club grounds. Team Tata Communications carved a victory over the team Prudential with a score of 9-7, qualifying for the next round against BMW in the opening match.
The next match was held on the 13th of July 2017 at 5 PM at the Singapore Polo Club where Team Tata Communications again won the match, defeating BMW by 9-5.
The next match will be on Saturday, 15 July between Prudential and BMW followed by the finals on the 16th of July. Satinder Garcha, the President of the Singapore Polo Club believes the yearly event is of great significance due to its contributions in bringing the game forth in the Southeast Asian Games.
