Vodafone Sirmur Cup - Day 1

aipur Polo Season came up to its 4th chapter with the opening of Vodafone Sirmur Cup on 30th January. The tournament started off with two exciting matches, in the first match, Chandna Group and Vodafone Royals faced each other on the field. In the first chukker, Angad Kalaan and Sameer Suhag scored one goal each for Chandna Group. With the start of the second chukker, Dhruvpal Godara and Gaston Deverient scored one each to even the scoreboard. In the third chukker, Bashir Ali found the goal post twice and Raghav Rao did the same once to gain the three-goal lead against Chandna Group. Sameer Suhaag scored only one goal in the final chukker. Vodafone Royals won the match with the final score of 5-3.

The second match was between Rajnigandha Achievers and Jindal Panthers/Garcha Hotels. The first chukker ended with two goals from Simran Shergill for Jindal Panthers. In the second chukker Matthew Perry opened the scoreboard for Rajnigandha Achievers with his first goal of the match; soon Simran Shergill retaliated and scoring his third goal after that Satinder Garcha scored his first for Jindal Panthers/Garcha Hotels. In the third chukker, Rajnigandha Achievers made an amazing effort as Matthew Perry scored two goals and Abhimanyu Pathak scored one but Manuel Fernandez Llorente scored one for his team to gain a one-goal lead over Rajnigandha Achievers. The fourth chukker was supposed to be the final chukker but the scoreboard was even at the end of it as Matthew Perry scored his fourth goal of the day then Siddhant Sharma scored his first goal and gained a one-goal lead but Satinder Garch grabbed the opportunity and scored a goal to tie the match. The match went into a golden chukker in which Satinder Garcha scored the winning goal, the final score was 7-6 in the favour of Jindal Panthers/Garcha Hotels.
