AJNIGANDHA WIN THE YES BANK INDIAN MASTERS POLO 2017

The Yes Bank Indian Masters came to an end on Sunday, November 19th, when the top two teams : Delhiites Polo and Rajnigandha Achievers went head to head.

Much like the league matches, the final did not disappoint as we saw two teams playing with their heart and soul from the first whistle to the last.

Matthew Perry, Uday Kalaan, Bhawani Singh Kalvi and Siddhant Sharma started for Achievers while Delhiites had Gaurav Sahgal, Basheer Ali, Akshai Malik and Samir Suhag on the field for them. Top quality players , fighting to get the top spot, a gripping contest awaited the spectators at the Jaipur Polo ground.

After a quick start for the Achievers, and Delhiites looking out of wits, the score after the third chukker was 5-1 in favour of the Achievers. Matthew Perry got the scoreboard ticking , Uday Kalaan made it two and a quick double for Bhawani Kalvi extended the lead before Perry added another at the end of the third chukker. Gaurav Sahgal was the only player from Delhiites who had scored up till then.

Delhiites Polo and Gaurav Sahgal scored another in the fourth chukker , and Perry responded with one for Rajnigandha which acted as a catalyst for Delhiite Polo’s comeback. They scored 3 more goals thanks to Samir Suhag and Bashir Ali, but the final whistle stopped the Delhiites from turning the game around and the final score was 7-6 in favour of Rajnigandha Achievers, seeing them win the Yes Bank Masters Polo 2017.
